A true all rounder

The all round nature of the 27.5″ tyre is at the heart of the Xroad 3 Open. Fit a pair of Hutchinson Python tyres sporting a plethora of mini studs, and the end result is a tyre with excellent roll but with equally good comfort and traction. Hard tarmac roads, railway cuttings, canal tow paths and loose ground are easily dealt with. It’s strong too. With Moustache exclusive 27.5″ wheels (23mm wide) double cavity welded asymmetrical rims, the Xroad 3 can deliver great performance.

A nice pair of SR Suntour XCM ATB forks ensure versatility and ease of adaptability, whatever the terrain. A wide 11-42T cassette ensures broad gear ratios and easy hill climbing. A Shimano Deore 10-speed derailleur works a treat on this stunning e-bike. Working in unison with Shimano Rapidfire shifters, means gear changes are slick, clean and true. Hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano acting on 180mm and 160mm rotors ensure effective braking at all times.

Bosch’s Smart System Intuvia 100 display provides all the necessary rider information. It’s large backlit screen is crystal clear.

How do I measure my height?

With your shoes off, stand upright against a wall, with your shoulders back and legs together. Use a pencil to make a small mark on the wall above your head (make sure you hold the pencil parallel to the floor). Then measure from the floor to your mark, in centimetres or feet and inches.

How do I measure my inside leg length?

With your shoes off, stand upright with your back against a wall. Place a book/ruler between your legs, level with your crotch. Then measure from the floor to the top of the book/ruler, in centimetres or feet and inches (it’s easier if a friend helps).

Q & A

Do all brands of ebike use the same unit of measurement?

No. Most brands show sizing in centimetres, however some use a S/M/L system, and others use inches. The table above includes all of these variations to help you find the right size.

Which size should I go for if I'm in between those listed?

If your measurements suggest that you have a choice of two different sizes, then in the end it’s a personal choice. Here are some rules of thumb to consider: Touring/Trekking ebikes - choose the smaller size. It is possible to make a smaller frame bigger (for example, by raising the saddle or fitting a longer the stem), whereas if the frame itself is too big for you, it’s likely to be less comfortable and won't feel right. eMTBs - choose the larger size. You’ll find an eMTB with a slightly larger frame easier to handle than one that feels cramped. You can always fit a shorter stem if necessary to reduce the reach to the handlebars.

How are ebike frame sizes measured?

An electric bike’s frame size is calculated by measuring the distance from the top of the seat tube (where the seat post inserts), to the centre of the front chainring. Sizing Guide
