The Focus Jam2 6.8 is a sophisticated trail bike with 150mm of travel.
Well balanced and immense fun to ride, the Jam2 offers versatility, Bosch’s new Performance CX Gen4 motor and a whopping 625Wh battery. Also, the battery is now removable which wasn’t the case on last season’s Shimano variant.
It ticks all the boxes for those riders wanting a long range, high performance eMTB and stunning looks to match. We think that it’s one of the best looking eMTBs out there!
Focus Jam2 6.8 Specification
Available in a few different specifications, we felt that the 6.8 with FOX suspension has the edge over the 6.7 model that sports RockShox. Nevertheless, the Jam2 6.7 is still a huge performer and attractive at £600 less than the 6.8.
Key observations:
- 29er
- 625Wh
- Bosch Performance CX Gen4
- aggressive geometry; longer reach, slacker head angle and shorter chainstays
- Dropout flipchip for 27.5″/29er wheel sizes
- 150mm travel
- Fully integrated, removable battery
- FOX suspension
At the heart of the Jam2 6.8 is Bosch’s new motor. The CX Gen4 is smaller, lighter and quieter. It’s actually over 1kg lighter than its predecessor! In addition, friction within the new motor is significantly less.
Furthermore, an FSA 34t chainring with a narrow-wide design alleviates the problem of dropping chains when it’s muddy.
Couple that with a huge 625Wh battery, and the result is a gutsy trail bike with loads of range and immense fun to ride.
The Focus Jam2 6.8 features a Shimano Deore XT M8100, 12-speed derailleur coupling with a Shimano SLX M7100, 12-speed, 10-51T. With such a great spec, you’d expect the Jam2 6.8 to deliver and it does so in every respect.
Having FOX suspension on both front and rear rounds off what is a very engaging and great performing trail bike.
