Riese & Müller Culture Touring

The Culture Touring from Riese & Müller is the next generation of lightweight eBike!

The new Bosch Performance Line SX motor weighs only 2kg but still packs a real punch delivering 55Nm! In addition, it’s a gutsy performer providing 600W of power and an all new ‘Sprint Mode’. This new mode directly mimics the riders input and offer a more natural, sporty ride without overstepping its mark and will suit riders who want a lightweight bike to complement their ride in a more intuitive way.

The overall bike weight is a mere 21.9kg! That’s several kg’s lighter than the competition!

This resulting lightweight means that a long range (and heavier) battery simply isn’t required. The standard 400Wh is more than enough for most riders. It’s compact, relatively light and sits within the frame. Charging is directly on the bike. It is therefore securely protected from being stolen but is still removable in the event of any service work.

Battery: the ‘PowerMore 250’ Option

The brand new Bosch PowerMore 250 is a completely portable bottle cage sized range extender that’s easy to add and remove. It weighs 1.6kg.

The PowerMore 250 extender battery is neat and compact in design, similar to a water bottle. It’s about 20cm long and around 8cm wide. Very useful for those longer rides! Simply secure the add-on battery in the frame bag and increase range by more than 60%. It’s easily charged off the bike. The fixed frame bag provides plenty of room for the bottle-sized energy reserve, as well as for other useful bits and pieces.

Smartphone Connection

Thanks to a simple SP CONNECT ready stem, a smartphone connects quickly and easily to the Culture via a SP CONNECT smartphone case.

It’s worthy of note that the Culture Touring is minimalistic in design. It comes as standard with a Bosch LED remote. However, the Bosch Purion 200 colour display is an optional upgrade that features on this particular bike.

How do I measure my height?

With your shoes off, stand upright against a wall, with your shoulders back and legs together. Use a pencil to make a small mark on the wall above your head (make sure you hold the pencil parallel to the floor). Then measure from the floor to your mark, in centimetres or feet and inches.

How do I measure my inside leg length?

With your shoes off, stand upright with your back against a wall. Place a book/ruler between your legs, level with your crotch. Then measure from the floor to the top of the book/ruler, in centimetres or feet and inches (it’s easier if a friend helps).

Q & A

Do all brands of ebike use the same unit of measurement?

No. Most brands show sizing in centimetres, however some use a S/M/L system, and others use inches. The table above includes all of these variations to help you find the right size.

Which size should I go for if I'm in between those listed?

If your measurements suggest that you have a choice of two different sizes, then in the end it’s a personal choice. Here are some rules of thumb to consider: Touring/Trekking ebikes - choose the smaller size. It is possible to make a smaller frame bigger (for example, by raising the saddle or fitting a longer the stem), whereas if the frame itself is too big for you, it’s likely to be less comfortable and won't feel right. eMTBs - choose the larger size. You’ll find an eMTB with a slightly larger frame easier to handle than one that feels cramped. You can always fit a shorter stem if necessary to reduce the reach to the handlebars.

How are ebike frame sizes measured?

An electric bike’s frame size is calculated by measuring the distance from the top of the seat tube (where the seat post inserts), to the centre of the front chainring. Sizing Guide
